Family is your Forever Mentor
A short three-minute film from a Thai telecommunication company, Advanced Info Service (AIS), brought a reminder of great influence and precious perspectives. This short film commercial was based on a true story of a young Thai daughter learning valuable lessons from her mother. Her mother had never been in school, and she gradually helped her daughter to teach herself to never give up despite challenges in her life.
The daughter’s mother made a living by selling fresh fruits on a trolley circling around a market from dawn to dusk. Yet, she was her daughter’s tough mentor. She taught her daughter to observe, analyze, experience, and face challenges directly with her encouragements. Despite of results, her daughter was always had her support in finding of answers by herself, while her mother watched her from distance. The inspiration from the mother’s parenting transformed the daughter to be innovative.
The mother’s dedication for her daughter touched my heart when she said “I didn’t go to school, I didn’t know what to say when I wanted to teach my daughter. All I knew was to show her, so she would understand by example.” and “I’m happy to see her learn from experience and solve problems on her own. Someday when I’m not around, I know that she will be just fine.”
AIS has changed their new theme on supporting families since last year August. The company’s senior vice president in PR mentioned how their company has been supporting families for 15 years. To raise awareness of family significance, the direct learning value from family was emphasized apart from education from school. From AIS’s short film commercial, the company expresses their encouragement on the power of learning which will lead a brighter future with full of possibilities.
